USED CAR BUYING TIPS
TIPS FROM TODD DURM
Shopping for a used vehicle can become stressful very quickly. There are a lot of factors to consider, which can make it difficult to even know where to begin. Whether you're buying from a private party or a dealership, there are some basic things to always check.
- The tread depth on the tires. If a new set of tires is needed, make sure you factor that into the price you are willing to pay.
- Windshield wipers, belts, and hoses. Make sure to ask if these all meet state requirements.
- Inspect safety features such as airbags, seat belts, and check for frame damage.
- Ask the seller if the vehicle has been in any accidents. Ask the seller to see receipts of any repair service. The idea is to purchase a used vehicle that won't require a lot of maintenance right off the bat.
- Overall, the most important thing to remember is to ask a lot of questions. Try to get as much information as possible about the vehicle you are looking to buy.
